The UK Border Agency has launched a flexible new way for applicants to book appointments.

You can now go online to book your appointment if:

  • applying in person for same-day decision at one of seven public enquiry offices – ‘premium application’, for which you will pay a higher application fee
  • you have applied by post but you need to submit your biometrics at one of 11 biometric enrolment centres and public enquiry offices so that you can get an identity card for foreign nationals as part of your immigration application.

The online booking system should provide a fast, simple and convenient way of securing an appointment slot, allowing you to book when it suits you, say the agency.

The existing telephone booking service will continue to operate for large family groups of 11 or more applying together, and for people who do not have access to the internet or who just prefer to call.

The service is now live for premium applications. Postal applicants who need to obtain an identity card and whose postal applications are received on or after 18 September will be sent a letter telling them that they can book an appointment online

Though Ukba has launched a supposed faster way of booking an online premium service in one of its various centres but it has become a nightmare getting the appointment booked. First and foremost, it has become practically impossible to register with Ukba for online service as it has consistently failed to accept my registration by telling me to go back to home page. I’ve been on this since 23 October and today is 26 and still with no success. If it continues like this then there is no hope of getting my appointment booked. Tx.
