The UK Border Agency (UKBA) has received Parliamentary approval to increase a number overseas visa fees and UK-based visa application fees from Friday 6 April 2012.

All payments made from 00:01 (UK time) on Friday 6 April, should be paid according to the fee information on the UKBA’s new ‘Fees for our services’ page.

Immigration applications will be rejected where an incorrect fee is paid.

Many of the fees have increased by just a couple of pounds, however, some Tier 1 fees have been hiked by 50% form £1000 to £1500.

Tier 1 – Postal Main (General) £1,000 £1,500
Tier 1– Postal Dependants (General) £500 £750

The UKBA offers premium schemes for Tier 2 sponsors with fees ranging from £8,000 to £25,000.

Premium Scheme – Large Enterprises N/A £25,000
Premium Scheme – SMEs N/A £8,000

The fee for Highly Trusted Sponsors and  Tier 4 sponsor licence rises from £410.00 to £500.

There are no fees for Bulgarians and Romanians applying for Yellow and Blue Cards, but appeals to the First Tier Tribunal against refusals are chargeable.

With the London Olympics around 100 days away, millions of visitors should have already applied for UK Tourist Visas.
