British actor Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, has reportedly been the victim of taunts from her snobby classmates at Brown University, Metro reports.
The blooming intelligent young actress shares one thing in common with her Hogwarts alter ego, in that she is picked on for answering questions in class.
The 21-year-old, who is studying at the Ivy League school in Providence, Rhode Island, recently decided to take a break from her studies, claiming it was to concentrate on her acting and other professional obligations.
However, sources claim she is often subjected to ‘witty’ responses when answering questions, such as people shouting out: ‘Three points to Gryffindor!’
The jibes are in reference to her role as Harry Potter’s smart female accomplice in the films based on the books written by JK Rowling.
New York Daily News suggested that Watson might be considering switching universities to escape the taunts, with NYUlocal.com reporting that she was spotted touring New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualised Study earlier this year.
The actress has also been exploring the world of ethical fashion and has collaborated with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti on a line featuring a series of environmentally friendly dresses. Source: METRO
