Would you be interested in giving an hour of your time to speak with a student researcher about your migration and care work story in return for a ₤10 high street voucher?
Hannah Burd is a Masters student from London conducting informal interviews for her thesis and a wider EU-funded study entitled ‘Caring Labour in a Migrating World’.
During May she will be seeking the participation of residential elderly care workers from three main origins; Eastern Europe, South-East Asia and Africa/the Caribbean (although all interested migrant carers or geriatrics nurses are welcome). She will be asking about the following:
- The education and career history of migrant care workers
- Their opinions on care provision for the elderly in the UK versus their home country
- How they cope with possible challenges in the workplace.
Interviewees will be key contributors to this research. Hannah will happily travel to a convenient, public location near you to make the interview. The identities of all participants and their places of work will be kept anonymous.
Please get in touch with Hannah any time to express your interest. Email her on Hannah.firstname.lastname@example.org.
