UKBA fines Tesco £115,000 for employing foreign students over 20 hours per week

Tesco’s effectively stabbed their own workers, whom they had illegally over-employed, in the back in order to save their own necks. Nice employers. With “full co-operation” of Tesco officials, the UKBA raided the Factory Lane warehouse at 3am on Saturday, July 21 entrapping their own employees.

Canada to reduce skilled worker immigration, but still compares favourably with UK

Ministers want to reduce the number of skilled workers who migrate to Canada – as well as the numbers who are granted PR (permanent residency) under the scheme – by almost 2,000. The popular points-based Federal Skilled Worker Programme for skilled migrants will be cut back next year allow 3,000 additional migrants who have worked or studied in Canada for at least two years to apply for PR.

YES, YOU MAY HAVE TO APPEAL ON HUMAN RIGHTS GROUNDS TO REMAIN IN THE UK – EVEN IF YOU HAVE BEEN REFUSED

The old saying, “It’s not over until the fat lady sings”, has never been more true that in immigration cases. Many migrants and international students who could be entitled to stay in the UK, for example because they are in a relationship or have a child, do not seek professional advice and sadly give up the fight and go home – in some cases with a ‘Section 320’ ban stamped in their passport for over staying! Salamat (thank you) UK!

Malaysian criminal wins Article 8 Human Rights appeal claiming she would be ’shamed’ if she was deported

Convicted Malaysian criminal wins ‘Article 8’ human rights appeal avoiding automatic deportation partly because she would be stigmatised in her homeland for her offences. Malaysian citizen Ai Vee Ong, 34, was jailed for four years after being caught employing 20 illegal immigrants at two restaurants she managed. She had also laundered money and conspired to sell counterfeit goods. Foreign criminals are normally deported after serving their sentence; however, Ong lodged an appeal against automatic deportation on her release, which was rejected in the First Tier Tribunal.
